I am a firm believer of the phrase “do what you love” and that what Southern Skeins is all about! I adore color - mixing and combining beautiful hues together to create something spectacular brings me so much joy! After exploring various different artistic outlets throughout the years, I discovered a passion for knitting and creating hand-dyed yarns. This led me to begin crafting high-quality soft and vibrant yarns that you’ll love for your own projects!

Southern Skeins began as a hobby and selling at small craft fairs, before transforming into a one-woman business. Every item you find in my shop is hand-dyed by me in my home dye studio. Being based in the sunshine state of Florida, I am able to take advantage of the warm weather and solar dye and dry most of my yarns! Not only does this give the yarn that Florida feel  but it saves energy and utilizes our biggest renewable resource-the sun! All yarns here are thoughtfully created with gratitude and a deep appreciation of the art and the artistic process of creating something beautiful! 

I believe fair prices are a way to treat others fairly, because the world always needs more equality.
