Meet the Maker: Laura Of Bronze Shepherd on Etsy

by Jenna Eddy on January 17, 2022

I recently had the chance to interview Laura of Bronze Shepherd Designs. It was a pleasure to speak with her and learn more about this incredibly talented artisan. She sells beautiful polymer clay charms, wind chimes, and jewelry. She loves crafting, spending time with her pets, and watching Korean dramas.

Laura has many hobbies and interests, but her favorites are scrapbooking and organizing pictures so that she can look back on her memories, reminisce and smile. Laura mentioned that she wishes that she knew how to knit or crochet, but at the age of 33, she still has much time to learn.

Laura’s favorite foods are Chinese cuisine and pizza. “Who doesn’t love pizza,” she joked. Her favorite seasons are fall and winter. She loves fall due to the changing of the leaves and winter because of the coziness of Christmas. She also enjoys looking back at her own family memories during this time of year.

As I browsed Laura's work at Bronze Shepherd Designs, I was especially intrigued by her lovely charms. Laura stated that she had already been making other items (such as wind chimes), but wanted to find something that was smaller and easier to store. She had been experimenting with polymer clay and wanted to see what she was capable of creating. She started with some food items at first. She made a taco, burger, and avocado before moving on to potatoes and bananas. She thought they were cute, with their little faces. And that’s how the idea was born.

I asked Laura to play the game two truths and a lie. Let’s see if you can guess which answer is a lie. If you answer correctly, you will be entered to win a prize. Laura told me that she has a twin brother, likes dogs more than cats, and her favorite flowers are daisies. Comment below as to which is the lie.  Include your email address and everyone with the correct lie responses will be entered into a mystery drawing.

Laura is on Instagram and can be found at BronzeShepherdStudio. Her Etsy store of the same name is full of beautiful items. Be sure to check it out!
