Some weeks are all work and no fun. This was not one of those weeks.
There was ice cream.
There was a pretty big milestone.
And there is currently enough yarn and packing supplies in this studio to make it look like Jack the Ripper moved in.
So… a normal week around here. 😂
Over the weekend, Dave and I took one of those drives where you don’t have much of a plan—you just start going and see where you end up.
We crossed into Georgia and found a little farm stand selling homemade ice cream.
Naturally, we stopped.
The dogs came with us, which meant the trip was equal parts relaxing Sunday drive and managing a car full of excited passengers who believed every stop was specifically for them.
Honestly, they may have been right.
There is something about a slow drive, farm-stand ice cream, and nowhere urgent to be that feels like a tiny reset button.
Highly recommend.
Southern Skeins reached 10,000 sales on Shopify.
TEN. THOUSAND.
I know numbers can look like just numbers on a screen. But this one made me stop.
That’s 10,000 times someone chose Southern Skeins. Ten thousand packages. Ten thousand little bits of yarny happiness sent from our Florida studio out into the world.
Shopify sent us an award to mark the milestone, and I filmed Dave opening it. Watching him realize what it was may have been even better than opening it myself.
We started this business back in 2016 with dye pots, yarn, and a lot of figuring things out as we went.
Ten thousand sales later… we are still figuring things out as we go. 😂
But we are also very grateful.
You made this happen.

Remember the nearly 100 red, white, and blue sparkle minis I overdyed last week?
They dried.
And they are gorgeous.
The bright patriotic colors have turned into deep wines, blueberries, and moody purples—the kind of shades that feel like they belong together even though each one has its own little personality.
Honestly, I love them more now than I did before.
They’ll be making their way to the shop soon. I just need to finish twisting, labeling, and trying not to keep half of them for myself.
We’ve officially reached packing time for Serial Skeins: Jack the Ripper.
That means the studio is filling up with boxes, story pieces, tools, yarn, and thousands of tiny items that all need to land in exactly the right place.
Very organized.
Very calm.
Definitely not chaos. 😂
The podcast episodes are written and recorded, the yarn is ready, and now it’s time to bring every piece together.

This was a huge project, and knowing so many of you trusted us to create the experience has meant more than I can say.
Now we pack.
Okay. I finished Silo.
That opening was INTENSE.
And then there was Daniel—sitting there, looking at Helen like some tiny piece of him was trying to remember.
That was the glimpse I recognized.
I still have a LOT of unanswered questions. But for the first time this season, I could really see the story from the books peeking through.
The show has changed plenty, and I have theories about almost all of it. At this point, I may need a whiteboard, red string, and a full investigative team. 😂
What I do know is that I am fully invested now—and Season 4 has a lot of explaining to do.
So that’s life around here this week.
We took a Sunday drive for ice cream.
We opened an award for 10,000 sales.
The sparkle minis survived their makeover.
Jack has taken over the studio.
And Silo left me with more questions than answers.
Basically: ice cream, yarn, mysteries, and a little chaos.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
