The inspiration this month is found in the Florida sky. You know, that time of the year when the weather is just right and the evening sky turns into a beautiful play of dark blues that melt into purple and pink. Breathtaking!
Now let's try to capture that in yarn to share with all of our wonderful subscribers.
Start with placing the wet yarn in a pan, making sure this nice and even so the dye can get through to everywhere.
We will add the first color, navy blue, to the center of the pan carefully. We don't want this to splash too much.
Do a quick double check that the 'yarn buttress' is still in place. This is going to act as a dam between colors.
Now we add half of the pink dye to one end of the pan.
I like to lift of the ends of the yarn and pour a little dye underneath as well.
Then repeat the pink on the other end.
Here's is how the dye pot is looks after adding all the color.
Now we add the lid and let it cook for about 2 hours.
Here is the beautiful Florida sky inspired yarn. It is all twisted up and ready to go to its new home with a Southern Stitch Yarn Club member!
